The Hip Flask Guide

Soldiers, explorers and even a pope (Pius XII) carried a hip flask – the latter “for medical reasons”. It’s a traditional men’s accessory, but it definitely has its DOs and DON’Ts. The Gentleman’s Gazette prepared this little guide to help you handle this classic accessory with care. Hip flasks, also known simply as a flask, is a container specifically designed to hold a portion of hard liquor that is carried in a pocket. O.O. It Is Time to Show Up and Support Womens Sports

Here at MenswearStyle we might be focused on all things male, but when it comes to support in sport, it should be coming from both sides. There has previously been a huge divide in sport between men and women, with the general resounding stereotype that men are stronger and women cannot play to the same standard of men. Thankfully there is a change in the air with the heavy-sided seesaw gently tipping. A divide still remains, however with recent sporting achievements, a dramatic positive change in statistics and the help from a new campaign from Sky, we can see the gap gradually closing. The Anatomy of a Suit Jacket: A Comprehensive Vocabulary

Suits come in two basic flavors–single and double breasted–but, beyond that, a suit jacket is one of the most complex tailored items out there, made up of numerous component parts that we may not think about that much. However, each aspect of a suit’s design adds something to how it looks on you. In this article, we’ll review the anatomy of a suit, with an emphasis on the important terminology used to describe its various features. What is a “Suit”? Though it may seem obvious, it may be worth mentioning first of all that a suit is comprised of a jacket and pants in matching fabric that forms a set, hence its name in French:  complet . As Sven Raphael Schneider has explained elsewhere , the modern English word comes from the French suivre,  “to follow,” with the pants following the jacket (or vice versa).
